within the grounds of Petworth House
29th & 30th November 2025
Saturday 10am - 6.30pm

How To Find the Market
Our Makers Christmas Market is taking place in the Battery House & Servants Quarters and outside areas set in the grounds of Petworth National Trust House. You can access the Battery House & Servants Quarters via the Petworth House Car Park or through the House if you are visiting the whole grounds - or if you are coming from Petworth Town off of North Street where there will be a temporary Zebra Crossing leading you directly to the Battery House - all will be wheelchair, buggy and dog friendly. Please note this is a FREE event but normal admissions apply to enter the main house.

Art
Andrew is a full time landscape and wildlife artist based in West Sussex. His paintings begin not with grand visions, but with small, stolen moments: an attempt to hold onto those moments of pause where something wild briefly meets the artist’s gaze. They are not just studies of wildlife, but of the atmosphere that surrounds them. They are observations made in stillness, not spectacle and are a love letter to the subtle, to the overlooked, and to the wild things that live beside us, half-seen and wholly wondrous: not dramatic, but intimate—hushed and near.

Andy is an artist and teacher with over 20 years of experience who enjoys many different mediums. He specialises in painting with acrylics on wood. Andy is inspired by the British sea and wildlife which he
illustrates on locally sourced
reclaimed wooden boards. Each board has been sanded to enhance its natural characteristics before paint is applied. This process gives each piece originality and a uniqueness all of its own. Each piece has different layers of acrylic paints applied to create shades and tones and to develop depth within the image. To complete the final layers of the image, metallics and iridescent paints are added and these alter the painting when observed from different angles. They bring the paintings to life in a natural light.

40 million paper Christmas crackers are thrown away every year. Elle & Jay Reuseable fabric crackers are designed to be unwrapped, like a gift. Fill the crackers with small gifts to suit your table guests such as miniature bottles of favourite tipples, scented skin care – lip balm, soaps, hand cream, chocolates etc. By attaching a small gift tag they also become place settings or used individually as a gift wrap for those special small gifts to place under the tree. Snaps can be added as an option.
Once the party is over, pop the cracker fabrics and ribbons in the wash, iron on the reverse, place in the box and keep for more celebration events.
Each cracker is hand made by me, Julia, and the tie ribbons are made from recycled plastic bottles.

Launched in 2020, and revitalised by owner Michelle Pratt in 2023, the brand features core flavours - Berry Blast, Blackcurrant Burst and Strawberry Cooler, plus seasonal specials, all presented in reusable glass bottles. In 2024 a range of freeze-dried fruit pots were launched to complement our infusions as garnish or as a healthy snack.
Recently Berry Blast has won a silver Quality Food Award in the Christmas gifting category.
Fruitology is now stocked across the UK and has been showcased at the Good Food shows Summer & Winter.

My journey started in 2021 when I took a year sabbatical from teaching and came across clay...the most wonderful medium to work in that truly captured my heart and soul....that is where the adventure began.
I quickly fell in love with clay and in 2023 | built my home studio, nestled on the edge of the Ashdown Forest.
The studio is now home to 'Bertha', my kiln and
'Rufus', my studio dog, who loves a clay bucket almost as much as I do.

I am a Greenwich based ceramicist working in a traditional corner shop attached to my house. I produce functional stoneware with an emphasis on kitchenware as well as eating and drinking with family and friends. I don't follow a specific template and prefer to use the weight of clay as a guide rather than measurements. Each item is unique, the dimensions and shapes will differ due to the making process, they are designed to complement rather than match. I enjoy overlaying glazes which gives a different effect on each item, I leave the lower section of the piece as naked clay emphasising the contrast between the rough matte texture and the smooth glossy glaze. My most popular item is my dimpled cylinder, perfect for your favourite hot drink, Pimm’s or a beer in the summer but, as the weather gets cooler, perfect for a warming hot chocolate or a festive mulled wine!
